Begin your adventure in the enchanting town of Poprad, nestled at the foot of the majestic Tatra Mountains. As you arrive, let the crisp mountain air fill your lungs and the scenic beauty captivate your soul.

Start the day with a hearty Slovakian breakfast and prepare to encounter Tatras’ hidden treasures.
Your path will lead you through ancient forests to the Plesnivec hut. As you ascend towards Velke Biele Pleso, you will experience the crystal-clear waters mirror the sky, framed by towering peaks.
You will soon reach your destination Zelene Pleso, one of the most famous destinations in Tatra Mountains. This glacial lake is known by its emerald color, which is believed to be due to underground springs feeding into it.
You have plenty of time to marvel at the surroundings, as you will be spending the night right next to the lake at Zelene Pleso hut.

Begin your day with a hearty breakfast at Zelene Pleso before embarking on a new scenic journey.
The trail takes you up to Velka Svistovka, offering an exhilarating challenge with its chain-secured sections and breathtaking vistas. You will continue onwards to Skalnate Pleso, a key access point to iconic Tatras peaks that offers unparalleled photo opportunities.
The path will then lead you to Sedlo pod Ostrvou, rewarding with panoramic views that capture the essence of the Tatras’ rugged beauty.
You will conclude the day in the Little Cold Valley at Zamkovsky hut, built in the early 1940s by a passionate mountaineer and mountain guide.
8.5 km and 525 m of elevation gain / 597 m of elevation loss

Enjoy the breakfast at Zamkovsky hut, and lace up your boots. Today’s trail will lead you to the famous Hrebienok, offering panoramic views that will take your breath away.
You’ll continue along a series of cascades of the picturesque Cold Creek Waterfalls to the Velicka Valley. This place is a true wonderland, especially in spring and summer, when the landscape bursts into a kaleidoscope of floral colors.
The walk through the valley will then bring you to your final destination – the Sliezsky Dom Hotel, at 1,663 meters the highest mountain hotel in Slovakia, where you will spend the night.
9.5 km and 543 m of elevation gain / 331 m of elevation loss

Your final hiking day begins with a tasty breakfast at Sliezsky hut, where you can truly take in the beauty surrounding the valley. This day will be marked by two beautiful lakes.
The trail will first lead you to the crystal-clear Batizovske Pleso lake, where you can stop and admire the view of the surrounding peaks. From here you will continue to the lake Popradske Pleso, offering a moment of peace before descending to the vibrant tourist resort of Strbske Pleso, where you will spend your final night in High Tatras.
10 km and 137 m of elevation gain / 708 m of elevation loss
Strbske Pleso
As dawn breaks over Strbske Pleso, you begin your final day in Tatra Mountains.
Depending on your departure time, you can seize the opportunity to enjoy local cuisine in quaint cafes or restaurants, providing a taste of Slovakia’s rich culinary heritage.
This is also your chance to purchase unique souvenirs, from traditional Slovak crafts to memorabilia that capture the essence of the Tatras, as a lasting reminder of your hiking adventure.

This 6-day expedition is designed to showcase the very best of what these majestic mountains have to offer, blending the tranquility of leisurely treks with the adrenaline of exhilarating climbs.
The journey through this UNESCO-protected area will follow one of the most beautiful routes in High Tatras. It will begin in historic Poprad village and lead you through the top scenic locations, such as the emerald Zelene Pleso lake, floral decorated Velicka Valley, iconic Skalnate Pleso and other destinations offering stunning panorama of High Tatras.
On your way, you will get to explore the highlights of Slovakian culture and stay in mountain huts, including the highest mountain hotel in the country. All while treating yourself with the delicious flavors of Slovakian dishes.
The paths on the walked trails are well-trodden and marked, and you will most surely encounter other hikers and climbers.
The climb to Velka Svistovka, however, features 20-meters of secured chains and is as such not appropriate for the faint-hearted. You also must also be adequately fit to be able to hike 5-8 hours daily in diverse terrain for several days in a row.
