Begin your High Tatras adventure with arrival at Tatranska Kotlina village. After settling into your accommodation, prepare to explore the unique charm of this serene destination.
Depending on your arrival time, you can even set out to explore the nearby Belianska Cave, one of the largest and most visited caves in the Tatra Mountains, known for its impressive stalactite and stalagmite formations.
Make sure to also take a moment to acquaint yourself with the village’s traditional ambiance and the breathtaking natural beauty that surrounds it.
Tatranska Kotlina
Begin your day with a satisfying breakfast in Tatranska Kotlina before embarking on your first day of hiking. The trek will lead you through stunning natural sceneries with majestic views of the surrounding mountains, such as Lomnicky and Kezmarsky Peaks.
This trail, known for its rich biodiversity of alpine meadows and forests, leads to the Plesnivec Hut, known for Slovakian warm hospitality. Positioned amidst these iconic mountains, the hut provides a tranquil resting spot in the wilderness.
Don’t forget to keep your eyes focused for a chance to observe the chamois, a highly protected and emblematic species of the High Tatras.

Plesnivec hut
After a refreshing breakfast at Plesnivec Hut, you will set off towards Biele Pleso, with the day’s path winding through the heart of the High Tatras’ landscapes.
Today’s trek is marked by the anticipation of reaching glacial Zelene Pleso, one of the most beautiful among the Tatras’ lakes, renowned for its vivid emerald-green waters that mirror the sky and surrounding peaks.
You will spend the night at the hut positioned right by the lake’s shore for a perfect backdrop for an evening of reflection and relaxation.
6.5 km and 412 m of elevation gain / 157 m of elevation loss
Zelene Pleso hut
As the dawn breaks, enjoy a hearty breakfast at Zelene Pleso Hut and begin your journey.
This day’s hike promises not just a physical journey through the High Tatras’ splendid wilderness but also a visual feast. Among the day’s highlights is the majestic view of Krivan, a peak often referred to as the national symbol of Slovakia. Its distinctive silhouette, visible from the trail, stands as a testament to the natural beauty and national pride of Slovakia.
The trail will come to an end at Biela Voda from where you will return to your accommodation at Tatranska Kotlina.

Enjoy a final breakfast in Tatranska Kotlina, savoring the last moments of your journey in the Tatras. Depending on your departure time, you have the day to relax, explore the village one last time or pick up souvenirs to keep the memories of your adventure alive.
